  • Core Traits: Pious, noble, traditionalist, respected but diminished in reach.

2. Overview

House Solaris is the royal house of the Lux elves, its prestige tied closely to the Clergy of the Sun God. Once sprawling across Staterum, its branches woven into courts and cities from east to west, House Solaris today is a shadow of its former expanse. In the Age of Darkness (AoD) they lost contact with cadet lines in Kair’Thear, and while a distant branch endures in the Dragon Teeth Islands, their presence there is too far removed to matter in the politics of Siar’Morrin.

Within Dovus, however, House Solaris remains synonymous with light, faith, and authority. Their matriarch, Lysandra Solaris, is not only head of the family but also the Voice of the Sun — the guiding head of the Clergy’s missionary arm. Though their influence has contracted, their prestige endures, and their name still carries weight wherever Lux elves walk.

3. History

  • Origins: House Solaris claims to be the first among the Lux elves to devote themselves to Gahrian. As such their name was given in devotion to Gahrian, and their role as royal line has endured through countless generations.
  • Notable Events:
    • The Age of Darkness: Lysandra Solaris herself lived through this cataclysm, preserving her house by binding it to the survival of the Clergy of the Sun. Many cadet branches, however, were lost or severed in the chaos.
    • The Withdrawal East: In the current age, as division and anti-elf sentiment rises, House Solaris has gradually contracted from Western Siar’Morrin, abandoning much of its presence there apart from lingering ties in Furrowton.
  • Current Status: House Solaris remains preeminent in Dovus and retains symbolic leadership of the Lux elves, but its hold is fragile. It is respected, even revered, but no longer commands the breadth of power it once did.

4. Leadership & Family

  • Lysandra Solaris: Matriarch, eldest surviving Lux elf noble, and current Voice of the Sun. Her longevity gives her an almost mythic presence; she is regarded as a living relic of the Age of Darkness.

  • Notable Members:

    • Kaelen Solaris: Eldest of the younger generation, a skilled orator and theologian within the Clergy, groomed as Lysandra’s successor in faith and politics.
    • Auriel Solaris: A radiant knight and paladin of Gahrian, beloved by the common folk for his deeds but criticised for his unflattering (at times tiresome) idealism.
    • Selira Solaris: A scholar of divine mysteries, tasked with curating Solaris family archives and keeping record of Lux elven history.
    • Thalor Solaris: Youngest, pragmatic and politically shrewd, often seen in Furrowton handling the family’s dwindling affairs in Western Siar’Morrin.
  • Cadet Branches:

    • The Dragon Teeth Line: Distant cousins whose isolation has diluted their direct relevance to Solaris politics.
    • Furrowton Line: Minor branch maintaining Lux elven presence in Western Siar’Morrin, increasingly embattled and isolated, yet staunch allies of the Ratfolk and their battle to be recognized in Siar’Morrin .

5. Culture & Reputation

  • Core Beliefs: House Solaris embodies the Lux creed: that light, vigilance, and devotion to Gahrian preserve the world from shadow. They hold themselves as both rulers and servants — chosen to guide, but always in service of the divine.
  • Influence: Strong within Dovus and the Clergy of the Sun, weakened elsewhere. Symbolically powerful, yet politically diminished.
  • Allies/Rivals:
    • Allies: The Clergy of the Sun, with which Solaris is inseparably entwined.
    • Rivals:
